Comics University returns to the St. Louis Public Library this year in participation with SLICE (The St. Louis Independent Comics Expo). These four workshops in the month of June will guide you through everything you’d need to create your own comic book: Writing, Drawing, and Editorial. Participants who attend all four sessions will receive coupons for Betty’s Books , Wizard’s Wagon , and Apotheosis .

Comics University ends its summer programming with Cartoonist and Comics University Creator Steenz! They’ll walk you through some best practices when it comes to figure drawing, as well as a workshop on cartooning and how to simplify. This class will have a clothed model!

Steenz is a St. Louis based cartoonist, editor, and professor. They’re the cartoonist on the Ringo Award-Nominated syndicated comic strip ‘Heart Of The City’ and the co-creator of Dwayne McDuffie Award-Winning GN Archival Quality. Steenz currently teaches cartooning at Webster University while editing comics for independent publishers and drawing their upcoming graphic novel, Side Quest: A graphic novel history of tabletop roleplaying games.
